Under ICH E6(R3), overseeing your CRO is your responsibility, and you have to be able to show it. Compass is the record that lets you. It's in development now.
The sponsor is accountable for the trial. Not the CRO. ICH E6(R3) is raising the bar on what that means.
Most sponsors can't show it. Oversight lives in spreadsheets, shared drives, and email. None of it was built to prove anything.
Compass is your own record of that oversight. Sponsor-owned, organized for inspection, and built around the standard E6(R3) is moving the industry toward. When the regulator asks how you oversaw your trial, it's there.
